The 812th Farstrider is a band of Thalassian Farstriders that served primarily in the defense of Quel'Thalas during the Third War.

Given that Farstriders operate in bands of three to five per unit, it isn't entirely clear why they're nicknamed battalions. One would wager a guess that a single group of Farstriders could perform as well as an entire 'battalion', making the naming almost in satire.

Sub-Divisions

  • Spellbows

Magic-wielding rangers who shoot spells instead of physical arrows from their bows.

  • Dragonhawk Riders

They serve as the Thalassian Air-Force, the Farstriders are elite-trained units that Quel'Thalas was defended by for thousands of year.

  • Sharpshooters / Rangers

Rangers and Sharpshooters are the same; the former is a trained bow-wielder, the latter one that prefers firearms. They make up the meat of the 812th.

  • Outrunners

They act as scouts, sneaking through and around enemy lines to report back valuable information, as well as ferrying important messages to-and-fro. They are very difficult to catch, and would rather die than give up the information entrusted to them.

  • Usually, a single unit would have one high-ranking Ranger. The 812th holds no such restrictions, and operates fully on Synergy.
