Highlord Alexandros Mograine, also known as the original  Ashbringer, was one of the original leaders of the Order of the Silver Hand. After the disbandment of the Silver Hand by the traitor Prince Arthas Menethil, Alexandros, along with other former members of the Silver Hand founded the Scarlet Crusade. Morgraine then served as the Highlord of the Scarlet Crusade until his death.

Alexandros was the father of Darion Mograine who would eventually be risen by the Lich King to lead various Death Knight campaigns in the Eastern Kingdoms, but broke free of the Scourge's control, forming the Knights of the Ebon Blade.
