Ansirem Runeweaver is an Archmage of the Kirin Tor and a member of the Council of Six, the ruling body of Dalaran. He is a mage of great renown and is also an accomplished author. He has written numerous books on magic and many of which are the go to books for new apprentices.
Ansirem presided over the Council of Six while the city was being rebuilt under the great dome, in appreciation for his leadership, Runeweaver Square in Dalaran is named in his honor. He has a daughter, Catelyn, who ran away from her boring life in Dalaran to become a pirate in Booty Bay. Ansirem has a few contacts in Booty Bay who keep him updated on her health and well being.
When Archmage Khadgar brought letting the New Horde into the Kirin Tor once more due to the demonic invasion following the Battle of the Broken Shore to a vote, Runeweaver was the only member who sided with Lady Jaina Proudmoore to not let them in. The unanimous vote went in Khadgar's favor.
