"I am not like the other Archmages in the Violet Citadel, your Highness. I will not stand idly by and witness the burning of thousands of innocents by that death-witch. I am no Guardian...but I am a Champion, and I fight for the people of the Alliance!" -Astrivex to King Genn Greymane as he arrived at the War Council, prior to the Battle of Undercity.

Archmage Astrivex Courageheart is a prominent member of the Kirin Tor as well as being one of it's Emissaries to the Alliance after the War of the Frozen Wastes as wel as quite possibly, the last living member of the House of Courageheart. He was at one point in his life, although briefly a member of Lordaeron's nobility during the Third War, prior to the destruction of Dalaran. During the 4th War, he served as a provisional Knight-Lieutenant in Alliance's 7th Legion. He is perhaps best known for wearing a reforged set of Lordaeron Mage-Armor Robes and wields the recovered Greatstaff, Valestar. Although he has abdicated his family's title, some among Stormwind's House of Noble's still address him at times as "Lord Courageheart", despite his display of annoyance from hearing it.

Biography[]

Origins[]

Born prior to the first war, Astrivex Courageheart is the youngest son of eight to Lord Darthramin and Lady Vanessa, nobles of the Lordaeron's royal court. At a young age, Astrivex was enamored with the stories of the High Elves and the rising of Quel'Thalas. When his magical power began to manifest and was sent to Dalaran, he bargained with Archmage Talarondis Starsinger of Quel'thalas to be his apprentice. Under high expectations from his mentor, Astrivex keeped a harden focus on his studies as Talarondis became a second father to him.

Because of his talents in the Arcane and his mutually nobility, it was inevitable that Astrivex and the Lady Jaina Proudmore would meet as rivals. Astivex's family had high hopes that their rivalry would turn romantic, but alas it was not meant to be as Jaina was too focused on her own studies. Eventually Astrivex meet with another apprentice at Dalaran named Corey Shaw, a commoner from Stormwind. Their relationship started out as simple friendship, but over the years became romantic when Cory kissed Astrivex after combat practice. They where very much in love with one another but sadly Astrivex's father forbade him from seeing Cory again once their relationship was revealed to the ladder's family. Being the youngest, Astrivex was given the choice of either continuing his studies with his fathers permission or be recalled to the Capital City and be tutored by the Cort mages.

Astrivex was heart broken and decided to end his relationship with Cory and remain in Dalaran. Cory was hurt bu this decision but did not fight it as he under stood his predicament. Shortly afterwords they would rekindle their romance, but this was during the beginning of the Scourge invasion that would change their lives forever...

The Third War[]

As the plague was sweeping threw Lordaeron, Prince Arthas Menethil ordered the "purging" of the infected towns people of Stratholme. It was later that when Prince Arthas went to Northrend, Astrivex received news that his parents and his bothers where murdered. Devastated and broken hearted, he was planing to leave Dalaran to return to Stratholme but a mysterious profit appeared before him and strongly advised him to go to Stormwind City. Astrivex didn't argue with the profit knowing that somehow he was now in mortal danger followed his words and took as many people with him to Stormwind, just as Arthas' forces began to assault the violet city. When Astrivex received word that the Kingdom of Lordaeron and Dalaran had fallen, he and Cory returned to the ruins to search for survivors.

They manage to rescue several of the apprentices and citizans from the rubble. It was then that a contingent of Kirin Tor guards teleported with Archmage Ansirem Runeweaver and other members of the Council of Six arrived. Astrivex, Corey and the others took part in Dalaran's reconstruction over the next few months under the cities shield.

Eventually Dalaran, icluding the Violet Citadel, was somehow moved to take up the crusade against the Litch King in Northren. Floating above Crystalsong Forest-the only thing left was a crater in it's original location in Alterac.

Modern Times...[]

"I am not stranger to...aggressive forms of diplomacy, shall we say. When the situation warrants it, mind you."

-Astrivex to Kynel Stormcrow at the Battle of Darkshore.

In recent years following the fall of Arthas Menethil atop of Incecrown, Astrivex officially abdicated his defunct role as a Honorable Lord of Lordaeron's Royal Court. However small his parts where or are in Azeroth's history; he has been known to help build hope in thous he meets in his journeys. During the 3rd Invasion of the Burning Legion, Astrivex assisted other Alliance and Kirin Tor forces in the region of Azsuna. During his time in Azsuna, he helped establish diplomatic relations between the Kirin Tor and Nar'Thalas. He also was part of the combined elven and Kirin Tor forces to wrestle control of the Nightborn city of Suramar away from Grand-Magistrix Elisande. After Sargarus' defeat by the Pantheon, Astrivex was sent to Suramar to try and convince 1st Arcanist Thalyssra and the Nightborne to join the Kirin Tor and effectively the Grand Alliance as well. Ultamitly, she sided with the Horde and Astrivex teleported away to Dalaran.

After learning of the destruction of the Worldtree Teldrassil and the Nightelven Capital of Darnassus, Astrivex effectively left the Kirin Tor-despite several protests from his comrades-and volunteered to join the fight against the Horde. But before hand, he returned to his ruined home of Stratholme one last time to find the heirloom of his family: Valestar. Upon retreiving his father's staff from his family's manor, he teleported to Stromwind...right in the middle of the War Council for the Battle of Lordaeron.

After the Alliance withdrew it's remaining survivors from the Capital City, Tyrande Wisperwind left ahead of Maiev Shadowsong and Shandris Feathermoon from Stormwind for a counter strike on the shores of Darkshore. During the search for her but Alliance heroes, Astrivex-now a provisional Knight-Lieutenant along with memebrs of the 7th Legion came as cavalry to aid the Sentinel Army. Just as Nathanos Blightcaller retrated, Astrivex and the 7th Legion arrival was fortuitous as Maiev's forces began to reach the shores of Auberdine. During the Battle to retake Darkshore, the sentiment of Ba'shal Aran was established and Sira Moonwarden-who had been raised as Forsaken Undead-was slain. Astrivex, Maiev and others celebrated, but the celebration was short lived as AStrivex was recalled back to Bolaris as the 7th Legion prepared to retake Stormguard Keep.
