–Avenue Duskseeker |
Avenue Duskseeker is a quel'dorei lieutenant of the Silver Covenant. He currently serves as Deputy Minister of Diplomacy in the Thalassian Accord. Avenue is a shrewd, calculating, and slightly odd man who, despite his occasional awkward quirks, is generally regarded as a polite, friendly individual.
Avenue is a skilled alchemist with particular specialization in poisons and healing potions; he can take life just as easily as he can restore it. He served as a special agent for both Ravenholdt and, later, SI:7; he has no shortage of experience with secret intelligence, and he is extremely meticulous. He knows how to cover his tracks—and thus, no one really knows what he does with his free time. He spends a lot of it studying, but the subject matter is unclear.
Appearance[]
Whispers in the dark, a knife poised on the tip of the tongue. The beautiful violet flowers of belladonna turning to deadly crimson berries. Admire them as they bloom, lovely and terrible to behold at once, but be sure to never let them find their way into your cup.
Part elf and part nightshade, he knows when to command the room and when to slip between its cracks unseen. Blue-grey eyes are alight with passion or veiled with cautious calculation; long hair, dark and ethereal as the raven's down, gathers neatly into a bun at the nape of his neck. Fair skin remains soft and smooth like an open book, save for the runes written on the hidden pages of his torso and biceps, and the torn scars of his left forearm, his chest, and his left cheek.
Arrogance tempered with prudence; authority tempered with charisma; power tempered with forbearance; just as the thorn is tempered by the rose. Whether trimmed and displayed at your dinner table or left to spread unchecked like a weed to choke your garden in the night, this particular invasive species will always make himself known—politely or otherwise.
History[]
Avenue's history is not well-recorded. He was born to unknown parents and abandoned at a Silvermoon City orphanage for unknown reasons. There is little written about his youth; he grew up troubled and fighting for scraps, and he jumped at the first opportunity to leave the city and make a life for himself elsewhere.
That opportunity came in the form of a position in Ravenholdt, though it is unclear how he obtained this position to begin with. Nevertheless, he excelled during his time there, and this is where his history starts to be recorded more—though most of it still is classified information kept under lock and key. This is where he honed his talents as an alchemist—and as a special agent.
He managed to use this position to launch his career and secure a job within SI:7. During his tenure there, his most significant work was accomplished in the Northrend campaign. Information about his service to the Crown is highly difficult to come by, and the SI:7 are notoriously tight-lipped—but the few whispers that do manage to escape the agency paint him as highly professional but ruthless.
From the SI:7, he transferred to the Silver Covenant, returning to his elven roots for the first time since his early youth. Serving as a member of their intelligence division, he rose up in their ranks to the title of lieutenant. This was his primary career until shortly before the Fall of Dalaran.
At this time, he stepped away from active military duty and became a part of the Silver Covenant's reserves. He focused his time instead into working as a member the Thalassian Accord, looking to work there alongside his wife, Erilihn Autumnsong. The Accord is a non-profit aimed at promoting and facilitating reunification of Thalassian elves—a goal which is underlined by their marriage: him being a quel'dorei, and her, a sin'dorei.
Politics[]
By virtue of him being quel'dorei, Avenue's entire existence is inherently political—though not by his own design. While most quel'dorei were exiled for political reasons, Avenue is merely a victim of circumstance; he happened to be living outside of Quel'Thalas when it fell to the Scourge, and he never returned home. When he left the service of Ravenholdt, it was to pursue a grander opportunity with the SI:7—which just so happened to be part of the Alliance, thus branding him quel'dorei.
Avenue has little connection to Quel'Thalas. He did not enjoy his time living there, and he has no family there to speak of. However, he knows that there is family history for him to discover there—and he wants to return to investigate it properly. He has thus turned to politics as a means of accomplishing this; as Deputy Minister of Diplomacy in the Thalassian Accord, he seeks to further the organization's goals, which just so happen to align quite well with his own. The Accord's mission is as follows:
- Foster unity among elves across faction lines
- Face external threats that endanger the people of Quel’Thalas—and, when relevant, Azeroth as whole
- Operate as a middleman, arranging and mediating talks between leaders of quel’dorei, ren’dorei, and sin’dorei organizations
Weaponry[]
Thalassian Shortswords[]
Avenue is skilled with the use of shortswords; he typically wields two at once. He is most capable with a scimitar-like shape, as this is common in Thalassian sword designs.
Daggers[]
He always has at least one dagger on his person—usually more. When he is partaking in a stealth mission, these are a go-to.
Scythe[]
Avenue has trained in the use of the scythe; this is not a weapon he typically uses, as it is less subtle, but he is capable when the occasion calls for it.
Various Effects[]
He commonly carries with him a plethora of small items such as poisons, venoms, and throwing knives.
