The Battle for Darkshore was a conflict between the Alliance and the Horde for control of Darkshore. Based alongside the rocky cliffs of the war-torn region, the Alliance holds minimal stations with the conclusion of the War of the Thorns and Burning of Teldrassil. Few outposts of the Kaldorei forces remain in the front. Control of Darkshore would return the home of the Kaldorei and provide the Alliance with a base of operations on the northern coast of Kalimdor.
For the Horde, multiple bases have already been constructed since the climax of the War of the Thorns, providing their forces with supplies of lumber and sustenance. Securing Darkshore pins the islands of Azuremyst, while offering pressure on the northern landscapes the Kaldorei still cling to. With more territory under the Horde's claim, their occupancy of Kalimdor continues at a grander scale.
