*Penumbrel in game.*
History[]
Early Life[]
Cecily was born in the heart of Theramore Isle. For reasons unknown to her (most likely poverty) Cecily's parents gave her to an orphanage as a infant. She remained there until she was contracted out at the age of seven to serve under a noble house as indentured labor. She spent most of her young years trying her best to survive, enduring beatings and all manner of abuse in her servitude. Her only solace being dreams of a girl in white, who served as a kind face and a source of comfort to her in the dark days. This life continued until an incident when she was thirteen.
While trying to evade several assailants on the city streets, Cecily accidentally conjured a blast of arcane energy, an untapped magic that had never before revealed itself until that instant. Shocked and terrified, Cecily ran and hid knowing the damage her act inadvertently caused in her panic would most likely get back to her masters and she would be punished severely.
When she did at last return to her superiors, she discovered much to her terror that she had been 'sold' to an unknown benefactor - a Kaldorei druid who had been travelling through the port city and had witnessed her event on the street.
Dispirited and despaired, Cecily resigned herself to becoming a slave by a different name, following the Kaldorei away from the only life she had ever known and off to a new and foreign land.
Val'sharah[]
Cecily was taken by boat to the Broken Isles, landing in the verdant wilderness of Val'sharah, a sacred land to the druids. There she was told she was to be the druid's thero'shan and tender, bought to be his caretaker and apprentice, and to study in the arcane crafts.
Her time in Val'sharah was not the slavery she had expected. The old druid, -while a bit taciturn, gruff and quiet - was not an abuser. He purchased them a house in the outskirts of the village of Bradensbrook, and there Cecily began the rigorous training of learning arcane based druidry, known by many as balance druidism.
They lived mostly in isolation, avoiding not only the denizens of the village, but also many of the other druids, only going into a town or temple when it was absolutely necessary. Cecily learned quickly that the old druid was something of an exile with the Druids of the Moon (his prior order), plagued by an unknown illness which often made him disappear into the woods for hours at a time. And yet... it was not a bad life. Though the training was strict and she was often left to her own devices in the in between, Cecily managed to find some manner of peace and stability there in that old cottage for nearly ten years. The dreams of the girl in white continued all this time, a phantom at the edge of Cecily's vision. Though Cecily never really questioned it as by this point she had accounted the dreams to a figment of her imagination.
However her quiet existence was one day abruptly uprooted when her mentor disappeared into the verdant wilderness and did not return. Worried, Cecily tried to venture out into the wilds of Val'sharah to find him. She got lost and turned around into the trees, unable to find her way home. She stumbled and wandered until suddenly... she felt a great weight and unknown sorrow fill her being, causing Cecily to collapse by a crystal pool. Unfortunately her path crossed with one of the feral worgen which roamed those woods there and she was attacked and bitten, becoming an afflicted human.
Mercifully found by several druids, Cecily was taken to a temple where the ritual of balance was performed to save her life. However, she was no longer visited by the girl in white in her dreams. They too had mysteriously vanished just as her mentor had. Wounded, sorrowed, and now cursed, Cecily realized she could no longer stay in the elven lands. Her mentor had gone to a place she could not follow, and she needed to find more answers.
Stormwind[]
Cecily came to the Eastern Kingdoms to start a new journey, landing in the capital city of Stormwind. It is here that she began to engage with others and discover new truths about herself.
She would meet another ex Druid - this time of the Antler - named Lilasana Moonmane who took Cecily on as a pupil and helped her to complete her druid training, expanding out on the segments her prior mentor had neglected, such as shifting and green magic/witchery.
She would also meet her first love, a Kaldorei named Anorandiir. Their time was tragically cut short as Ano was afflicted with a condition from his time serving to fight against the Burning Legion, and within two years of their relationship Ano succumbed to his ailment, leaving Cecily bereft and heartbroken. She also discovered at this time that the girl in white had actually been a living person at one point.- an afflicted Gilnean named Lucie Johnson. The 'dreams' had actually been memories that Cecily had witnessed as a sort of soul link between the two girls, until Lucie too died of a rare disease at that age of twenty five.
Cecily went on sabbatical after her lover's death and these sorrowed truths, learning from the different cultures and races of Azeroth. Her practices began to shift from Astral Druidry to encompass other facets of sorcery and magic, and on this journey she was able to at last uncover the whereabouts of her former mentor. He has become a crazed Moonkin, living deep within the Val'sharah woods. And because he was too far lost to be saved, Cecily was confronted with the ugly truth that in order to free her beloved savior, she would have to put him down. With the assistance of her friends she was able to endure this difficult task, giving her first teacher the peace and rest he deserved. It was then that Cecily left the order of the Druids of the Moon. Too much had changed and had been lost in the years since she had left the Broken Isles, and she was no longer the girl she had been when she had first began her journey.
Timeskip and Currently[]
In the months before the three year time skip leading to Dragonflight, Cecily would meet a Quel'dorei named Vesper Nightgale. Their friendship began tumultuously but in time grew to one of respect and mutual understanding. - two beings that were a product of fractured and painful pasts. She would go through many trials with Vesper- from forced servitude to an ancient vampiric lord to battles and misunderstandings- before finally as the years waned the two formed a bond with one another that led to a passioned love.
Cecily travelled to the Isles to study with the Emerald Flight, hoping to better hone and understand the other parts of druidism where her skills were lacking. And it wasn't until she was there and struggling with her abilities that she discovered another startling truth - she had become pregnant.
Unexpected and further still emotionally dividing, the pair went though many struggles and hardships over this development, before finally reconciling their differences. Vesper came to accept his birthright as Vesh'na Nightgale and embraced the task of fatherhood as well as letting his walls down fully for Cecily. The two were officially married and for a time resided in Howling Fjord with their daughter Asteria. But when Cecily became pregnant with their second child, and further threats revealed themselves, the pair came to the conclusion that they could not longer raise their children safely out in the open.
With sadness and tears the reality was accepted, and so Cecily and Vesper were forced to leave Azeroth and their friends behind. They entered into a rift that would keep them safe and separate from the known world so that they might raise their children in peace. A mystical place on the fringes of time and space called The Underwood. And it was here that they remained for nearly two decades, during which time Cecily gave birth to their second child Ender. It was also when Cecily received a gift from Elune, changing her hair from its striking black to a starlight silver, giving her the blessing of a slower lifespan so that she might age more gracefully by her partner's side. She would never be immortal like her husband. But she would live for far longer than a normal human. Giving her the grace of time with her unique family.
The children aged and grew into young adults, nourished and nurtured by the creatures of The Underwood. Until eventually it was time for the family to return back to Azeroth. Though it had been nearly twenty years in the rift, only a year had passed in Azerothian time. The four emerged into the waking world, and Cecily's children went off to find their own place within it, while her and Vesper retired and settled into their new life.

Appearance[]
As a human, Cecily has light silver hair and striking violet eyes. She wears vibrant garments in silvers, blues, and purples, with flecks of gold mixed in, a reflection of her balance with the cosmos - mind, body, and soul.
As a worgen she is black as night, with haunting moonlit eyes, glowing with the power of Elune. Cecily is smaller and more petite than her peers, but she carries with her gait a hidden strength. She is 5'4" as a human and 6' as a worgen.
In her feline form Cecily's coat is ebony and sleek like a panther, with a black mane and dark violet eyes. She has small bits of striping along her back and braids in her mane that have beads and feathers within them. She only has a few small silver adornments (no heavy armor icly) and her muzzle is petite and slanted. Teeth peeking out from her lips and a curious swish of her tail.
In her raven form her feathers are steely grey, with a light blue sheen that catches and shines in the light at the tips of her feathers. She has a sharp little beak and watchful eyes. More colbalt in color than her other feathered friends.
Weapons:
- Staff - Cecily's staff is a product of her growth as a Druid and as a person. The branch itself was plucked and grown from the shores of Theramore- her birthplace. There are whorls and small little details in the wood itself, before it spreads out at the top, leaves and wisteria blooms unfurling at the edges as the staff curls into a half moon symbol. The wood has been kindly coaxed on both ends into an expression of balance. Yin and yang. There is a deep colored cloth that coats the handle of the staff- Mooncloth that was saved from the burning at Teldrassil by a pragmatic Gilnean friend. And Elunite metal is wrapped not only around the handle, but also adhered to the edges themselves to act as a conduit and stabilization. There is a large and beautiful moonstone hovering at the staff's centerpiece- A gift from Cecily's Shan'do. Harvested from druidic allies of long ago.
Markings:
- Tattoo - Inked onto Cecily's back is an image that was bestowed upon her by the lovely and talented artist Rinara Huxley. A large tree with roots that extend down to her hips. The trunk runs along her spine, special runes etched into the bark there. And the branches spill out and encompass her upper back and shoulders. On the left side of the image the branches are bare...on the right they are full of leaves. And hidden in them are two symbols. A full moon on the left, a shimmering sun on the right. There are two wolves inked into the back of her upper arms. A black wolf on the left, mouth open and chasing the moon. A white wolf on the right. Serene and chasing the sun. Stars dot along the moons edge and a raven graces the white wolf's journey. It is very detailed and hums with the air of something enchanted. Hidden under the tattoo are old scars that the beautiful image has graciously covered up.
