Fate of the Duchy[]
Wolfrun was brought to ruin by the Argus Wake following the beginning of the Third Legion Invasion, having successfully manipulated the Syndicate of Alterac long enough to commit to their wickedry of demon spawning. The demons went and razed the lands thereafter, and the New Alterac populace was forced to flee or face certain decimation at the hands of the raging hatemongers.
As a result, Lord Wolfheart took all the refugees he could from his crumbling kingdom and duchy, bringing them by land from Alterac to Stormwind City on a treacherous, death filled caravan travel to the Southlands which was more like a forced retreat. Harassed on the way by bandits and the various enemies of the Alliance through out each land they encountered, after seven grueling weeks of travelling, the caravan of Alteraci that had started with over one thousand survivors was in the mere low three-hundreds; a catastrophy by anyone's accounts. The duke was relieved that he had any surviving followers at all, and vowing that he would return to Alterac because it was his destiny and birthright, he began to do just that: build up his forces, and return to Alterac, claiming his rightful place as the Ruler of Alterac.
