A young Elwynn Brown Bear
The Elwynn Brown bears are a unique group of bears native to Elwynn Forest. These bears have been noted to be larger then most if not all of the other bears of Azeroth as well as far more vicious. The bears of Elwynn Forest often attack caravans, patrols and even full military detachments on the roads of the Forest, as well as entire villages. At one time the bears had proven to be such a threat that Barathen Wrynn ordered a culling of their numbers, which caused the horrific Stormwind Bear War.
During the Gnoll War it was also observed that Gnolls had managed to tame the fully grown bears and ride them into battle, decimating the Stormwind ranks.
It is presumed that the bears are united into one 'faction' under the rule of the Bear King, Redfang.
