Felo'dinal

Felo'dinal, the Flamereaper

Felo'dinal (Thalassian: 'Flamereaper.') is a Thalassian Ranger's sabre forged before the Troll Wars. As a standard issue saber, it was issued to Theramyr Quel'dorah, a low-ranking Ranger who utilized it for the war's duration. After its conclusion, Theramyr kept the sword and it occupied a mostly ceremonial place upon the mantlepiece for centuries, having few notable fighters among the Quel'dorah family.

The weapon was finally taken up by Fëanor Quel'dorah when offered by his family to take with him to Draenor. The weapon in Fëanor's hands has grown beyond its original purpose of simple melee combat, becoming runeforged with thalassian scripture and inlaid with arcane crystals to become a more effective tool of channeling magic.

Over the last two decades, Felo'dinal has grown into a proper elven Runeblade as the wielder feeds it with arcane magic. The blade has been strengthened since its original forging, though retains most of its original appearance. The hilt has been significantly altered, incorporating the imagery of a Phoenix unto the hilt. The weapon never leaves Fëanor's side.
