The Fifth Royal Marine Regiment is the designated Gilnean Regiment assigned to the Fifth Fleet of Stormwind, acting as the primary landing force for the fleet!

History[]

Originally a quickly put together militia regiment based on the Duskwood Fleet to counter boarders, the Fifth Royal Marine Regiment(or Fifth Royal Marines) is the primary amphibious force of the Duskwood Fleet.

Early History(12 L.C. - 34 L.C.)[]

After the rise of naval combat with the New Horde Navy, who favored boarding, the crews of the Fifth Fleet organized a rough regiment of naval Militia to defend the vessels from the Horde. Soon, the militia began to show its potential.

Recent History(34 L.C. - Present)[]

Upon the implementation of Emergency Admiralty Fleet Orders of June 634 K.C., the militia was reorganized into the Fifth Royal Marine Regiment. Having been relegated to Azeroth, instead of going to the Draenor side, did not see much action until the Legion's Third and Final Invasion.

Partaking in the Battle of the Broken Shore, the regiment was nearly destroyed, loosing its officers and most of its enlisted. The Regiment was unable to recover, due to the creation of new regiments.

Upon the Legion's Defeat in Azeroth, the Regiment was able to rebuild the ranks, and only saw the ranks swell during the time between the End of the Third Invasion and the War of Thorns campaign.

The Regiment was sent to Valiance Keep in order to assist in breaking the siege the keep was placed under by the Horde. Though the Horde's forward positions where taken, the Horde's bombardment intensified and forced the Alliance to abandon the Keep and raze it.

Currently[]

The Royal Marines have returned for retraining and refitting of equipment.
