Blackfire Caverns is a sprawling demonic rift within the Twisting Nether. It is comprised of volcanic tunnels on a shattered planet, serving as a nexus for several worlds conquered by the Burning Legion.

The region of Blackfire rests on the cusp of the Twisting Nether, where the shattered reality of Nathreza bleeds into the Great Dark. It houses the ancient secrets of the nathrezim, fiercely guarded by the monstrous doomlord, Nalzier. Karzurek, a perfidious dreadlord, saw the opportunity to bolster his occult enterprise, establishing a commerce of souls and Fel sacrifices in exchange for forbidden power sought only by the boldest of warlocks and acolytes of the demonic arts.
Karzurek utilized Nalzier's hulking size and destructive strength to hew into the heart of the mountain, hollowing out the cavern's core to permit the construction of a palace and bordering bazaar.
