History[]

Early Life[]

Celeenia Shadowmoon was born in an orphange in Suramar City, Kaldorei Empire. Since Celeenia was a child, she has always had an affinity to both the Arcane and Elune. She would sneak away from the orphanage she was raised in to attempt to watch the arcanists and mages of Suramar practice their magic. She was fascinated by it. However, she was also fascinated by Elune and the Moon. As a child, she would always look up to the moon and ask Elune why she had no parents. It instilled a great doubt for the Goddess in her. As time went on though and Celeenia grew older and more mature, she saw the silver lining of her situation, the independence it gave her.

As she grew older she decided to pursue becoming a Sister of Elune at the Temple of Elune in Suramar. Despite her doubts as a child, she valued the independence she had for herself. She never wanted to depend on no one or anything, except the Goddess. Celeenia joinned the Sisterhood of Elune under High Priestess of Elune, Dejahna, the predecessor of Tyrande Whisperwind.

As a Sister, she would had multiple sessions of day devoted to prayer. She would also grow bonds with other Sisters and would cherish them greatly. They were the family she never had.

War of the Ancients[]

As time went on, Celeenia would serve the Sisterhood of Elune as a devout priestess and Sister. Celeenia also began dabbling in the Arcane arts, studying it herself because she was fascinated by it. When politics began shifting in the Kaldorei Empire and the War of the Ancients was happening, Celeenia and the entire Sisterhood of Elune had to abandon the Temple of Elune in Suramar after it was seized by Nethrazim forces. The entire Sisterhood, including Celeenia, joined Lord Ravencrest and his forces under the Kaldorei Resistance.

Celeenia fought alongside her sisters and the Kaldorei Resistance in the War of the Ancients. It was during the war she learned she was naturally talented in combat. As the battle was coming to an end and the sundering occurred, she escaped with other Night Elves to Mount Hyjal and aided in the rebuilding of Night Elven society.

After the war of the Ancients, Celeenia did not dabble in the Arcane for thousands of years. Instead, she opted to become a Sentinel while still remaining in the Sisterhood. It was there she learned her scouting and combat skills that she still utilizes today.

Celeenia's days as a Sentinel[]

As a Sentinel, she trained with many other Kaldorei to improve her combat prowess. From protecting Mount Hyjal to other places of Kaldorei residents, Celeenia viewed herself as a protector of her people. She mainly stood in Mount Hyjal though since a decent amount of Kaldorei resided there.

Celeenia fought in the War of the Satyr. Her first ever war as a Sentinel. As time went on and the Long Vigil occurred, Celeenia's combat prowess was not of much use until the War of the Shifting Sands, where she battled against the Qiraji alongside fellow Sentinels and Kaldorei.

After the conflict and the Long Vigil still occurring, Celeenia's combat prowess was not as needed due to relative peace amongst the Kaldorei. She did not participate in any conflict until the Battle of Mount Hyjal where her sisters and fellow Sentinels defended it against the Burning Legion and Archimonde. Though, her witnessing the mages in the battle made her reminisce of her days as a child watching the mages of Suramar. A couple weeks after the battle, Celeenia met a injured male Kaldorei warrior, Meerol Shadowmoon, and less than a month later, they were married. Meerol was a very brave and tough warrior, but he was severely injured in Battle of Mount Hyjal. Since he could no longer fight, he devoted himself into Winemaking, one of his favorite hobbies. Meerol was one of the best winemakers in Kalimdor. With the Kaldorei joining the Alliance and establishing trade with the Eastern Kingdoms and other parts of Azeroth, his business flourished.

After the Battle of Mount Hyjal and most Night Elves joining the Alliance, Celeenia decided for herself that is was best to join the Alliance too, for she admired the mages she saw wielding Arcane power like that, though she understood that there is a reason her people do not tolerate the Arcane. With the Kaldorei joining the Alliance, Celeenia was fascinated by all the new races. She traveled to Lor'danel to serve as their defense. While Celeenia was in Lor'danel, her husband was in Ashenvale, handling shipments and business. A couple weeks later, a letter came informing her that Meerol was killed by bandits while he was transporting multiple barrels of wine. This sent Celeenia into a deep depression and sadness. Though while praying to the Goddess, she felt the calming, nuturing, and loving power of Elune while praying which calmed her down.

Celeenia remained in Lor'danel for many years, occasionally traveling to Darnassus. However, as time went on, she was moved to Darnassus. When the Shen'dralar re-emerged and arcane became more acceptable in Night Elven culture that she decided to be re-learn such ways for she felt that it was Elune's wisdom guiding her. However, with a sudden urge to explore Azeroth and her knowledge of the Kirin Tor from her days in Northrend, she went to Dalaran and learn arcane from the mages of the Kirin Tor.

Celeenia's days as a Mage[]

It was at the Kirin Tor that she began re-learning her arcane magic and ways again. As years and time went on Celeenia showed great skills with her re-found arcane abilities which placed in the upper echelon's of the Kirin Tor's magocracy. Celeenia was also appointed a mage of the Kirin Tor under Jaina Proudmoore's tenure at the Kirin Tor. In addition, she was a member of the Kirin Tor Offensive. It was there that Celeenia would become highly adept in enchantment, transmutation, and abjuration.

After the political and social climate of Pandaria simmered down, Celeenia decided it was best for her to excel and train more and focus on herself. At the Kirin Tor, she began practicing more with cryomancy. Her training lasted for quite some time until the Burning Legion returned again.

As the legion returned, Celeenia left the Kirin Tor in protest to the Horde's return. However, she devoted her time in aiding the Night Elves, High Elves, and Blood Elves in freeing Suramar from Elisande's oppression and the Legion's grasp. In conjuction, she was present in the defense of the Temple of Elune in Val'Sharah. Soon after Suramar was freed from the Legion, Celeenia returned to a home her late, wealthy, husband Meerol had owned in Winterspring. She spent a great deal of time there, training by herself and occasionally traveling to Stormwind for vacations. While she was in Winterspring, she practiced more and more with the art of cryomancy. While exploring the ruins of Ruins of Kel'Theril, an ancient Kaldorei city destroyed by the Sundering, she discovered an ancient tome involving cryomanic, or frost, enchantments that dealt with empowering weapons in cryomancy. Celeenia saw this as a sign of Elune that this was the best for her, so she quickly traveled to nearby Nordrassil and asked the residential Kaldorei to craft her a sword. However, to pay hommage to Winterspring for this blessing, she brought pieces of wood from a sick tree in Winterspring as well as the metal Thorium and instructed the blacksmiths to combine both. Some time went on before the weapon of hers was complete so she went back to Winterspring and delved herself into her tomes and knowledge of the arcane and became her own teacher.

While in Winterspirng, she learned of the events that transpired at Teldrassil and Darnassus, she quickly rushed over to aide her Kaldorei brothers and sisters and returned again to fight at Darkshore. Celeenia, being present at Tyrande Whisperwind's ascension to the Night Warrior, was afflicted as well as other devoted worshippers of Elune. Celeenia eye's turned black while witnessing the ritual and remained black ever since Darkshore. Throughout the Fourth War, Celeenia would travel to Kul Tiras to aide the Sentinels there. She also aided at the Gates of Orgrimmar.

Presently, Celeenia now prays more to the Goddess after Teldrassil, hoping that Elune blesses the survivors of Teldrassil a new place to call home. In addition, she has recently joined the Grand Circle of Mages to aide the Alliance and provide her combat prowes. She believes if the Alliance endures than so will the Kaldorei.

Appearance/Physical Description[]

Celeenia Shadowmoon is a very tall and slender Kaldorei. While she may be on the older side she surely still does not look like it. In addition to her tall and slender body, she is very toned and surprisingly strong. Her eyes were white but since she witnessed the Tyrande Whisperwind's ascension her eyes have turned Night Warrior Black. Her hair is soft and white. She is also seen in traditional Kaldorei colors and never takes off her Crescent Moon jewelry which symbolizes her devotion to Elune.

Personality[]

Celeenia is a very serious yet down to earth person. She can take a joke and laugh while she is also very sharp and quick-witted. She is notorious for her comebacks in verbal altercations. She is also very tough and abrasive which some may find unpleasing and others find fascinating making her a polarizing individual. Celeenia prides herself on her knowledge, her loyalty, and her values. She considers loyalty her best trait.

Celeenia also is deeply invested in what combat use Arcane energy has to offer.

Combat Skills & Experience[]

Skills[]

Celeenia is a very skill combatant. She trained and was a Sentinel for millenia, defending the Kaldorei and exterminating all threats that enemies were able to muster. Since Celeenia has taken up the Arcane, she combined her knowledge of being a Sentinel with that of the arcane. She excelled in both up close and ranged combat as well as particularly preferring cryomancy, abjuration, and transmutation above all other schools and kinds of match.

Celeenia is very well-practiced in the art of shadowmelding. She utilizes the lack of light that the Night sky offers and takes advantage of local flora to hide behind. She adjusts herself to certain posistions to ensure that light can not reflect off of her or her armor. For millenia, Celeenia had glowing and bright white eyes and had to close her eyes as she attempted to blend in with her surroundings. Most of her scouting was based solely off of hearing. Recently, with her eyes now black, Celeenia can now finally be able to look without glowing eyes compromising her position.

Celeenia has a plethora of experience in scouting and utilizes her practice in the art of shadowmelding with it. Since the sentinels are notorious for their scouting skills, Celeenia has also learned how to walk quietly and walk in certain ways to lower the chances of being heard.
