The House of Ladekahn is a Knight House hailing from the eastern reaches of Lordaeron. The family earned their noble title five centuries ago from the King of Lordaeron of that era, and was awarded a keep and title to become a knightly house producing warriors for the Kingdom of Lordaeron.

History[]

The Ladekahn bloodline is mostly undocumented prior to 500 BDP. The founder of the family is a man lost to history named 'Vladek' who lived during the time of Arathor's founding in 2,800 BDP and pledged his clan to the barbarian king Thoradin, creating the first nation of man. In time, Vladek's Kin became known as Vladekkin which continued as the Clan's unofficial name until around 1,900 BDP when the Clan migrated from the Arathi Highlands to the forests of Tirisfal. By this time, the Clan had thinned considerably and numerous families had left, married off or otherwise reduced their numbers. The Clan effectively ceased to be and those who remained officially took the name Vladekkin as their surname.

In 1,200 BDP, a significant change occurred within the family line. As ever a large family with numerous branches and relatives, the ancestors of the modern day Ladekahns had by the time become known as Ladekkin. One of their daughters, a woman named Eowyn Ladekkin, became the first member of the family to officially take up worship of the Holy Light. Her conversion at the Monastery of Tirisfal marked a notable change for the family as each successive generation would continue to carry on her example and worship of the holy light would remain a strong tradition for the family for centuries to come.

in 500 BPD, the family had become known as Ladekahn and had a strong martial tradition. The current patriarch of the family at the time, a man known as Godwin Ladekahn or 'Godwin the Gallant' and his family answered the summons from the King of Lordaeron to fight against Troll invaders attacking the Eastweald. The Ladekahn soldiers fought with distinction and Godwin personally slew the Troll Warlord in a grand charge alongside his men. For his courage and valor, Godwin was knighted and granted a seat within the City of Tyr's Hand, where the Ladekahns would come to dwell ever after.
