Khadgar is a mage of great renown and power. He was once apprenticed to the fallen Guardian, Medivh. He also served as Supreme Commander of the Alliance Expedition that traveled to Draenor. He is currently serving as a member of the Council of Six, the ruling body of the Magocracy of Dalaran. It was Khadgar who suggested Jaina Proudmoore should take over as leader of the Kirin Tor.
During the Burning Legion invasion of Azeroth in 37 L.C., Khadgar ascended to leader of the Kirin Tor and Council of Six after Archmage Jaina Proudmoore left following the council's vote to let members of the New Horde back in Dalaran.
