"A rose by any other name would never be as sweet."

Lady Rose is a draenei socialite currently residing in Stormwind City. She is well-known amongst many circles, especially for her service as the Crown Patron of the Stormwind City Guard, being the councilor representing Cathedral Square on the Stormwind City Council, being the lead coordinator of the Stormwind Job Fair, serving as the serving as headmaster of the Stormwind City Community College, and serving as the co-editor of the Stormwind Daily Newspaper. She is a founding member of the Canal Street Lady's Club.

At her core, Lady Rose is a socialite. She seeks to make friendships and connections with all manner of people, including those one might assume she would find disagreeable.

Biography

Early Life

Lady Rose hails from a small kingdom founded by draenei who left the Exodar and founded their own kingdom molded after those on the new planet on which they had arrived. She adopted the moniker "Lady Rose" based on her birth name, Laediras, though her birth name is unknown to anyone still living other than the legal clerk who authorized her name change.

Lady Rose was born on Draenor but does not remember much of her childhood due to its chaotic nature.  Rather, her first memories are of the Exodar during its path to Azeroth.  Upon her group's departure from the rest of the draenei, she was selected to serve as a noblewoman amongst her people. Draenei nobility was not selected by blood, rather by potential.

The Dranaei Royal Court recognized that Lady Rose, from a young age, was someone whom should serve as a leader within their kingdom. She exhibited tremendous social grace and poise, mastering nearly all levels of etiquette.

It was through her grace and charm that she was appointed into a noble house within the kingdom, ergo her recognition amongst both her people and those new to her presence as "Lady Rose".

Arrival in Stormwind

Lady Rose longed to return to her home, though she internally knew that it would be to no avail - nothing remained of it.  Instead, she set her focus on establishing herself in Stormwind, dedicating herself to the wellbeing of its citizens, though not as the priestess she had trained to be during the war.

Nay, Lady Rose knew that her true talents lied in social graces.  She aimed to establish herself amongst the socialites of Stormwind and join their ranks as a leading lady.  Power was never ambition; rather, she aimed to help those in need and share the enjoyments of high society with those around here, no matter their noble status.

She took particular interest in adapting the human culture, working to perfect her common language skills and shaping a unique accent distinct from standard draeneis and more akin to that of the human aristocracy which she someday hoped to join.

She took particular interest in adapting the human culture, working to perfect her common language skills and shaping a unique accent distinct from standard draeneis and more akin to that of the human aristocracy which she someday hoped to join. One of the first people she met was a wealthy businessman who immediately took romantic interest in her. Genuinely reciprocating his feelings at the time, Rose began a relationship with this man, though their relationship soured when he became both physically and verbally abusive towards Rose.

Afraid to be left alone in a strange kingdom of foreign races, Rose remained with the man for some time until she mustered the courage to leave him. Shocked by her decision to leave and worried that Rose would expose him for the abuser that he was, Rose accepted a large settlement from him in exchange for her silence on mistreatment. This settlement provided Rose with a significant financial cushion.

Crown Patron of the Guard

Her work on assimilating into Stormwind resulted in her forging a strong relationship with the Stormwind City Guard.  She has provided much aid to the Guard over her time in Stormwind through her healing powers as well as her social skills, which led to Captain Saryss Avenarius awarding her with the Grand Alliance Civic Commendation and the Stormwind Medical Cross in recognition and thanks for her contributions to the Guard.

After being highly commended in the awards ceremony, Lady Rose was appointed to be the Lady Patron of the Stormwind City Guard's 42nd Regiment.  In this role, she continued her aforementioned services to the Guard, though now in an official capacity, with a particular focus on public relations.  She received a second Grand Alliance Civic Commendation for her work in this capacity.  She lead the rebranding of the 42nd regiment into the 24th regiment and continues to serve as its Crown Patron.

Becoming Established in Stormwind

Due to the strong relationship she forged with the Stromwind Daily Newspaper while working on public relations for the Guard, she was offered the position of Lady Patron and Co-Editor of the Stormwind Daily Newspaper to help further promote the paper to the citizens of Stormwind given her esteemed status as a socialite.  She graciously accepted the position and works on promoting the paper to citizens while also feeding journalists with juicy gossip.

Her time training in etiquette in her homeland came to fruition in Stormwind when Lord Mayor Xavier Morgan requested her assistance in amending the Stormwind City Charter.  Her extensive knowledge of decorum resulted in Lord Mayor Morgan appointing her to be Stormwind City's Director of Protocol.  This training eventually caught the attention of Lord Chief Justice Kalren Geroux, who appointed her to serve as his legal clerk.

All of her acclaim and accomplishments eventually led to her running to represent Cathedral Square on the Stormwind City Council, feeling confident her record had proven itself as one worthy of the people's support.  Surely enough, she was correct and became the first non-human and the first woman to represent Cathedral Square and the first draenei on the City Council. Her social prowess was further solidified when she founded the Canal Street Lady's Club alongside Lady Junele "June" Steelbarrow and Lady Terez Ascania. She was later re-elected to a second term on the City Council in a landslide victory.

Titles

Crown Patron of the Stormwind City Guard

Lady Rose presides over a Guard ceremony

Sometimes referred to as "Lady Patron of the Guard", this position is a civilian appointment made by His Majesty the King or the Lord High Steward. In this capacity, Lady Rose is responsible for representing civilian interests to the Stormwind City Guard. It likewise grants her the status of a commissioned officer of the Guard, which she leads alongside Captain Lorraine Shelby and Captain Dave Khano. It is through this position that she employs the title "Lady". Prior to the 42nd regiment becoming the 24th regiment, she served alongside Captain Saryss Avenarius. Captain Avenarius met her end when a member the Residuum of Icecrown, Cobahnn Sultar, kidnapped Lady Rose and held her hostage. Captain Avenarius struggled with Sultar to free Lady Rose, resulting in the captain's untimely death.

Lady Rose was shortly thereafter rescued by a team sent by the Guard. After recovering from the attack and mourning Captain Avenarius, Lady Rose appointed Lorraine Shelby, formerly a lieutenant, to the rank of captain and founded the 24th regiment to replace the 42nd regiment.

Several months later, the 42nd regiment was reestablished in order to aid in Stormwind City's defense during the Scourge invasion. Lady Rose authorized the transfer of Shelby from the 24th regiment back to the 42nd regiment in order to aid in their reestablishment and appointed Dave Khano, who was a captain in the 24th, to become the new commanding officer of the 24th. The revival of the 42nd, however, was short-lived, and Shelby later returned to the 24th, though Khano remained its commanding officer.

Stormwind City Councilor for Cathedral Square

In September 632 KY, Lady Rose was elected by a wide margin to serve as the councilor representing Cathedral Square on the Stormwind City Council, defeating noted author Runeoak Runeoak in the election. She received the second highest number of votes ever recorded in a City Council election, receiving endorsements from the Stormwind City Guard and the Order of the Seekers amongst many other high profile individuals such as Mother Superior Eveneah Rosewood and Bishop Kessanella Prismspark.

In April 633 KY, Lady Rose was elected to a second term on the Stormwind City Council, gaining more votes than she accumulated in her initial election thereby breaking the record for the second highest number of votes ever recorded in a City Council election. She again received an endorsement from the Stormwind City Guard as well as local businesses in Cathedral Square, including Dawford Entertainment.

She also often interacts with the Order of the Seekers on religious affairs.

Through her work with the Guard, she frequently works with the Magical Enforcement Bureau and the Stormwind City Watch. She may also confer with members of the Stormwind House of Nobles on legislation of interest to her, though she is not a member of the House.

She is frequently involved in the activities of the Stormwind City Orphanage. At least once a week, she bakes a pie or other dessert for the orphans at the orphanage and frequently visits them to lift their spirits and check on their wellbeing. As a sign of their appreciation for Lady Rose's contributions to the orphanage, local orphans sewed her a draenei doll and presented it to her as a Winter's Veil gift.

Lady Rose has referred to the Rose Garden Tavern as her "favorite tavern" and can frequently be seen attending their tavern nights, often alongside off-duty members of the Stormwind City Guard. She has a particular affinity for Naaru's Light, a sweet tea served at the tavern, and has sampled most of the tavern's food and drinks, often making recommendations to others.

Physical Description

LadyRoseSketch.png

Lady Rose has very fair, white skin. Her hair, which she normally wears in a bun and ponytail, is likewise white, and she takes offense to it being called grey. Her eyes are an icy blue and she has a very slender, thin build. She stands at seven feet tall and always maintains a perfect posture.

The transatlantic accent with which she speaks was developed during her childhood as an attempt to avoid sounding like a standard draenei and more like a human, though the accent is an unnatural mix of a Gilnean accent and a Stormwind accent and does not sound like a standard human accent.

She is often referred to as being a figure of great beauty. She is known to use her attractiveness to platonically flirt with others, both male and female.

Relationships

Romantic Relationships

Many men and women alike have expressed romantic desires for Lady Rose. She is often receptive to at least platonically flirting with them, though she remains committed when in a relationship. Men whom have expressed desire for her include commoner farmer Kenneth McHenesy, rapper Yung-Chung, boss of the Yakuza gang Bahmi Blufur, political advisor Bruno Walker, local drunk Bartho Quafeather, strongman Ujimaas, the elderly Koros, Commander Dave Khano, and mobster Lecherous Dragonpaw.

Sillas Cannde

Lady Rose met Sillas Cannde shortly after arriving in Stormwind City and leaving the man who had mistreated her. Their paths cross on a bridge connecting Cathedral Square to the Dwarven District. Sillas was on his way to apply to join the Stormwind City Guard, which intrigued Lady Rose. She accompanied him as he submitted his application to Captain Saryss Avenarius of the Stormwind City Guard's 42nd regiment.

Sillas and Rose continued their friendship for some time. She eventually began to develop romantic feelings for Sillas, which he reciprocated, resulting in them formalize their relationship as partners. Sillas eventually convinced Rose to join the Guard in an unofficial capacity as a medic. This service eventually led to her being appointed the Lady Patron of the Guard and serving as a commissioned officer within it.

A native of Kul Tiras, Sillas often finds himself away from Stormwind City to tend to his family's farm. This burden increased dramatically when Sillas' mother, Lyndis Cannde, passed away in September 632 KY. Sillas wished to remain at his family's farm in Kul Tiras and Rose refused to move away from Stormwind City, causing the couple to separate after a long relationship.

Wexley Morgan

Rose and Wexley

Wexley Morgan was introduced as Lady Rose's new beau at her Winter's Veil ball in December 632 KY. Wexley and Rose had began dating approximately two months after her split with Sillas Cannde after the two became close following some personal outings. The two are often seen patronizing the Rose Garden Tavern where they frequently dance with one another. They met through Wexley's work in the Stormwind City Guard and became romantically involved after a picnic at the lake near Stormwind Keep.

Wexley and Rose maintain a strictly professional relationship whenever the two of them are on-duty with the Guard at the same time, though they express physical affection when off-duty. The couple enjoys going on double dates and frequents The Rose Garden Tavern in Lakeshire at least once a week. Wexley is also often seen accompanying Rose to other various social functions.

Friendships

As a socialite, there are few regular residents of Stormwind City with whom she does not have some kind of a relationship. Lady Rose considers many people to be dear friends to her, including Tyxx Toxx, Sheera Prescott, Lady Alice Dawford, Dave Khano, Mother Superior Eveneah Rosewood, Vol Duskwhisper, Brodderick Grantham, Zyrian Lichbane, Bishop Amourill Goldmourn, and Kaylyn Duskspark. She is friends with all members of the Canal Street Lady's Club, which so co-founded with friends Lady June "Junele" Steelbarrow and Lady Terez Ascania.

Mei "Blossom" Mudan, Zyrian Lichbane, and Sia Fenvyr are often seen keeping a watchful eye over her personal security. She has been known to have drinks with Lady Persefani DeSirrus. She appears at the Rose Garden Tavern with an assortment of her friends generally once a week.

Lady Rose enjoys a cup of tea with Dr. Reverd Weace.

Lady Yasaana, who comes from the same draenei kingdom as Rose, is her only friend still living from her former home. The two often meet for tea at Lion's Rest and discuss their mutual childhood and fallen kingdom. Matrisha, a peasant farmer from the former kingdom, was likewise close to the two prior to Matrisha's death.

Trade District city councilor Calvin Quill and Rose are very close with the two often conferring with one another on both political as well as personal matters. They almost always vote the same way on the Council. Their relationship was founded based on Quill's relationship with Saryss Avenarius, a former captain of the Stormwind City Guard, though has strengthened and deepened after Avenarius' death.

She and Patrician Xavier Morgan have a somewhat contentious relationship, though they tend to work well professionally. Whereas they do generally get along, Morgan's near constant zaniness tends to wear on Rose's nerves, especially in public settings. She is particularly annoyed by Morgan's chicken companion, Lt. Cluck.

Staff

Bruno Walker and Zack Bullard both serve as Rose's policy advisors for Stormwind City Council business. Walker is the senior advisor whereas Bullard is the junior advisor.
