The one known as Landaullan Voidblade was in life a Sin'dorei who was extremely loyal to Quel'thalas, even going so far as to not follow his king, Kael'thas Sunstrider into the Outlands because he had work to do in in Quel'thalas proper. If he didn't stay, he no doubt would have become a Sunfury, as many others had, but instead he kept to his work in Quel'thalas as he manipulated the minds of the citizens to keep them under control. However, with such power brought quite a few enemies. Magisters for one and his sister Shelandia for another.

Just when Landaullan's influence was at its peak and he was about to officially become a Magister, there was a scheme hatched against him via his sister Shelanida. The details are vague from report to report, but it's said that Landaullan ended up slaughtering several Magisters. Yet, there was no clear proof of Landaullan's involvement other than the fact he was there after the fact. Furthermore, it was action that caused him to be exiled from Quel'thalas proper on pain of death.

Many years passed and eventually Land's sister Shelanida broke Randasar out of the Violet Hold and sent the San'layn after Landaullan. Their encounter ended up with an intense battle for which Randasar was the victor. In turn, Randasar raised Landaullan as a San’layn, which was considered a ‘mercy’

It took years for Landaullan to come to terms with not just exactly what happened, but what he was turned into. Having to deal with terrible mercenary companies to even prices on his head due to bad deals he made.

Eventually, he found his footing after he was given the offer to become head of security for the Gilneas Black market, when he joined the Nexus Regiment and eventually House Bloodfeather.

Things have turned around quite well for San'layn, up to and including becoming the Revenant-Lord of the Ghosts of Terenas. A position of not just power, but faith and not something he is going to squander. He has learned much, and he puts his family and the cult above all else.

Description[]

Appearance[]

Standing at 6'3'', the San'lyan known as Landaullan Voidblade holds himself up akin to a Magister, hands almost always slipped behind his cloak. He has short white hair, which is normally lose, but sometimes is slicked back against his scalp. When he uses too much shadow magic or gets too angry, his eyes flicker or sometimes turn purple, but it also depends on the situation.

Whatever outfit he wears, he makes sure that it's entirely clean, with no wrinkles or damages - normally at least. He also has frost runes imbued on every single piece of clothing and armor set he has due to the fact he likes to be kept cool.

When it comes to his shoe attire, Landaullan normally wears boots, with a point at the end of the toe box for both amusement and more practical uses.

On his right arm, between the elbow and wrist, is a brand of a ribcage, which he keeps covered at all times.

History[]

Allegedly born around two thousand years before the destruction of the Sunwell, Landaullan was ultimately born into a family of mostly Rangers and Knights. His mother and father happened to be  (Redacted) and (Redacted), he had a brother, who’s name was (Redacted) and a sister who was named Shelanida.

While he and his sister originally trained in combat to be rangers, they both had different paths then the rest of their family. His sister was on the path to be a Magister of some renown, but Landaullan did not catch the attention of the magisters. At least, not in a good way.

For, Landaullan always had the adept ability to sway the thoughts of others, even to the point of manipulating them. It was something that started when he was a child and it was mostly his gift to gain the trust of animals, his parents and others.

It was this very talent that caught the attention of many in Quel’thalas. Some believed that he would be a great ranger or even a diplomat and others believed that he could make Quel’thalas even stronger, but ultimately he ended up going down the path of the priest.

Not just any type of priest either, but one that was brought into the fold that could not only manipulate, but change the minds of others. To keep the city safe, stable and more or less safe.

It was something of a task that Landaullan found himself quite adept at - not only did it keep him inside the walls of Silvermoon proper most of the time, but it kept him quite busy.

  • During these years Landaullan made quite a name for himself in certain circles.
  • He never liked non-elves and rarely if ever ventured outside of Quel’thalas at all.
  • His social life for what it was happened to be quite poor as he focused entirely on his work and rarely if ever made friends outside of his dealings.
  • He also made many enemies during this time for following the law to the letter - even when it was hated.

When the Scourge attacked and the Sunwell was destroyed, it was out of sheer luck that Landaullan was not in Quel’thalas at that time. He had managed to avoid being there, but quite frankly, he didn’t even hear about the destruction of his homeland until an unknown amount of time later.

There was part of Landaullan that wished he was there to fight and die to protect his homeland, but the reality of the fact was that he only wanted to save his eldest brother due to the fact he was the perfect one that everyone liked far more than him.

Fast forward several long years later and Kael'thas Sunstrider fell twice.

  • While many were eager to follow Kael’thalas to claim retribution, Landaullan stayed in Quel’thalas for his people and did not leave for the Outlands.
  • During this time, Landaullan started delving into the darker arts, specifically Shadow magic, which grew massively over time.

The Lich King was defeated, the world was sundered, the Thunderking fell, Orgrimmar was raided, a portal to an alternate version of Draenor was opened and then the ultimately Legion returned to Azeroth.

  • It was only during the Legion’s return that Land started to dive into Void Magic, something that was dangerous, but he wanted to exploit it for what it was worth.

While there were opportunities to leave Quel’thalas such as joining the Sunreavers, he made a clear decline of it. Even when he was asked to assist in the Rebellion against Garrosh, he didn’t give his assistance direction. Instead, Landaullan maintained his focus on his duties and his own studies.

He didn’t care about the world outside Quel’thalas, not even when the Legion invaded. No, he was content to keep things stable at home. As they were.

However, his studies into the dark arts had made those of Umbric’s lot extremely invested in his activities.  Even going so far as to offer assistance into his research, control, possibilities and even vast amounts of wealth.

Such an offer was tempting. Some could even say it was too tempting, but Landaullan declined to take anything from them. He did, however, see no harm in having at least one formal meeting with someone from Umbric’s lot, but such a meeting has never been verified

Landaullan’s loyalty was to Quel’thalas above all, no one else. And not those who staged a mass exodus. It was one thing to speak with one of them, but another to actually join the ranks of aberrations.

And while for a time things had gone well, there had also been enemies moving about. There were many in Quel’thalas who did not want him to become a Magister. And one of the most notable voices was his sister, who had staged a most devious plan, one that would pin the slaughter of several Magisters on Landaullan himself.

  • There never has been any proof or evidence of Landaullan’s involvement with the slaughter, other than the fact he was in the same room.
  • Landaullan only confessed to the slaughter after several weeks of intense interrogation and torture, even though the truth of the matter is that he has no memory of doing so.
  • It was widely considered for a time that it was a lapse in control due to whispers is what caused the slaughter.
  • The truth of the matter was that while Landaullan had no direct involvement in the slaughter, it was firmly pinned on him.

A trial soon came after weeks of integration, which ultimately led to Landaullan’s exile on pain of death from Quel’thalas for a whole, it also earned his sister a commendation for their actions and secured their place in the ranks of Magisters.

  • At that time, the Judicial Magister preceding the case had a fair assumption that Landaullan was not guilty.
  • However, as there was no evidence at all pointing in either direction besides eye witness testimony by Landaullan’s sister, his hands were tied.

The official records of the exile were linked to his dealings with Umbric’s lot and the cover story for the slaughter of Magisters was that it was an attack by Umbric’s followers, but the reality of the matter was covered up and sealed.

  • Landaullan was extremely angry and confused after the exile, replaying the events of the day and his torture again and again.
  • He had little time to process what happened to him due to the fact not only did he have to deal with being kicked out of his homeland, but also being betrayed by the only family he had left.

After his exile, Landaullan suffered from countless assassination attempts. These lasted for (Redacted) until the last one left Landaullan severely wounded and then they suddenly ceased until (Redacted).

At some point in time, his sister ended up releasing a powerful San’layn from the Violet Hold named Randasar. This San’layn was sent to kill Landaullan and in exchange, Randasar would be free to do whatever he wished.

When finally both Landaullan and Randasar fought, it was an intense battle, but the victor in the end was Randasar. He killed Landaullan and just when he thought that (Redacted) would grant his freedom, the Magister changed her mind and used assassins in waiting to try to kill Randasar.

While the Magister made their exit, believing both Randasar and Landaullan to be dead, Randasar made the split action, which he would later label as ‘mercy’ to raise Landaullan into a San’layn.

However, instead of sticking around, Randasar had abandoned Landaullan fully to figure things out himself.

  • There were highly noticeable signs that Landaullan had changed, but he truly brushed them off.
  • A stark contrast to his normal behavior was occurring. Not only did he start to have intense hatred for the living, but also there also was a disinterest in anything and anyone.
  • His need for blood was critical and so, he resorted to blood wine to state his thirst, however it was far more blood than anything else.

There was never a moment that Landaullan acknowledged that anything was wrong.  He had always gotten what he wanted and he always came out on top. That was something that he could always count on.

His urges were stated where he could get them, going on hunting trips and terrorizing places such as Duskwood. It was something that he quite frankly enjoyed, but he still couldn’t accept what he was. True, there were some who he considered ‘friends’ that tried, but the fact of the matter was that Landaullan knew what he was - the only problem was that he didn’t want to accept it

Matters were made worse as finally his knack for cruelty came to light. There was no more hiding it and perhaps that was for good reason that he was no longer hiding from anything or anyone.

And while Landaullan traveled to Northrend for answers, he also wanted to try to find the one that made him what he was. It was a rough journey, but eventually he found himself standing face to face with Randasar, who captured him.

  • Randasar was at first kind to Landaullan and started to explain things to him.
  • However, shortly after it ended up with ‘training’, which resembled more like a gauntlet of endless fighting.
  • When Landaullan ultimately failed a trial, he was tortured for days on end. Landaullan failed quite a fair amount of trials.
  • The entire ordeal lasted about two months.

When Landaullan finally escaped Randasar’s captivity, he was distraught and furious. He’d been beaten, tortured and worse. All he could feel was anger and hate towards everyone - even when he wanted to feel something else. Anything else.

  • During this time he became far more hateful towards everyone - even his so called ‘friends’
  • He called being a San’layn a ‘condition’, which he believed could be fixed.
  • He isolated himself away from everyone and according to some became erratic and hostile.

However, after so many (Redacted) months, Randasar was captured and held in a place Landaullan could easily access. It was a cell, which was meant to contain Randasar for transfer to the Violet Hold.

  • Landaullan had visited Randasar each night to get information out of him.
  • Randasar was not very forthcoming with information to Landaullan.
  • Randasar constantly played tricks with Landaullan causing him to doubt everything he knew about himself and those around him.

However, due to his visits with Randasar, Landaullan was put in the sights of an investigation about both his visits with Randasar and everything else Landaullan had done for months.

All these transgressions were put forth into a trial, which in truth was more like a sham. Everything that Landaullan had ever done was brought up and he had no say in his own trial - leading him to be found guilty and thrown out of that particular mercenary group.

  • Unknown to Landaullan during that trial, Randasar had escaped before he could be transferred to the violet hold.
  • Landaullan would consider it a mercy of sorts, because no one deserved to be in the Violet Hold.

After the sham of a trial, Landaullan took it upon himself to vanish off the face of Azeroth for several months.  No one knows where he went and Landaullan doesn’t discuss it either.

  • During this time he joined the Cult of Forgotten Shadows.

When he appeared again, he started taking on courier jobs and even became security for several black markets. He was making a name for himself on his own terms.

Not too long after, he formally joined the Nexus Regiment after much debate. In turn, his exile from Quel’thalas was lifted and he got a second chance to do what he wished.

Granted, it was not without its troubles not too long after joining the Nexus Regiment did something under the prospect of ‘honor’ and almost was given a true death by someone he once trusted.

  • He managed to escape by teleporting back to Lordaeron proper.
  • The event reinforced that he shouldn’t trust people.
  • His hatred of Death Knights started from there.

In time, he joined the House Bloodfeather and in turn gained a new family. A family that supported and cared for him. Something that he was not really sure about at first, but eventually came to enjoy it.

He also was promoted to being a Deathstalker in the Nexus Regiment from High Command. In turn, he gained the trust and support from those around him in the Nexus, something he greatly values - even if he won’t admit it.

  • Sometime after becoming a Deathstalker, Landaullan poisoned his sister with an undiluted dose of Coral Adder Venom.
  • In turn, that got rid of one of the last vestiges of his life before death.

However, some things were not as easily taken care of like his sister. There were scars that were not so easily healed both from Randasar and others.

When the tournament of ages came and passed he was starting to get to his worst. He was both overworked and stressed. Everyone could see it.

  • Landaullan worked Security for the Tournament.
  • After the ball on the last day of the Tournament of Ages, he went on a vacation, which was expected to be months.

However, not too long into the vacation he was called to deal with some sort of echo’s in the capital city of Lordaeron. He did go back to his vacation shortly afterwards, but then Landaullan was called to Dalaran before moving to some titan location.

As Landaullan was ordered to be there, he showed up, but things didn't go as expected as he was captured by the Nerubian forces before the fall of Dalaran.

It’s unknown how long it was until Landaullan was rescued from the hands of his Nerubian captors, but what is known is that once he was recovered he wasn’t given much time to recuperate. He may have wanted a vacation, but he was sent back into action a bit too soon and he ended up regretting it.

However, as things went back to their new normal, Landaullan is trying to do better. He’s trying to become a better person to his family. To the Nexus and House Bloodfeather. Not because it’s required of him, but because he wants to.

  • He also has become the Revenant-Lord of the Ghosts of Terenas.

Other Information[]

Landaullan - JPGfb

Land is skilled in mental Magic and does 'skim' people's minds at times. He does this because he wants to know what they are thinking. It is mostly harmless, but rarely does he get anything from it. Think of it as what one is thinking of at the moment - nothing more.

However, when Land enters someone's mind there is also the chance that he can 'bring back' something depending on how far he goes - such as memories, thoughts ect, but normally everything fades with-in a few days.

Land was once exiled in Quel'Thalas, but as of recent that exile has been lifted.

Land also uses ability such as like Door of Shadows to go everywhere. He actually overuses the ability honestly.

Land knows a decent amount of sword fighting, hand-to-hand combat and how to use a bow.

Relationships[]

Revlas Detasatral - The Baron is very close to Landaullan and Landaullan is very close to him. It's not known what their true relationship is.
