King Llane Wrynn I
Llane Wrynn I was the last ruler of the Kingdom of Azeroth during the First War. He was the child of King Adamant Wrynn III and Lady Varia, and the father of King Varian Wrynn. He is also the grandfather of Prince Anduin Llane Wrynn.
Although Wrynn led his kingdom successfully against the orcs in the first years of their arrival alongside his friend and ally, Anduin Lothar. With the rise of Warchief Blackhand, the war turned badly against Stormwind. Sensing that the final confrontation was at hand, Llane prepared to rally the armies of Azeroth against the orcs. Garona Halforcien was a close friend of Llane, but also secretly an agent of the Horde. As the orcs besieged Stormwind itself, Garona assassinated the beloved king on behalf of the Shadow Council under the warlock Gul'dan.
With the fall of King Llane, the armies of Stormwind quickly lost heart and were overrun by the orcish Horde. Only the quick and decisive action of Lord Anduin Lothar allowed many of the denizens of Stormwind to escape the Horde's savage wrath.
