General

Nestled beyond the towering southern walls of Stormwind City's Mages' Quarter in the flat grasslands north of the Westridge mountain-range, the March of Stonewind is a small fiefdom carved from King's lands and granted to House of Ardalan for zealous loyalty and faith to the Crown and its realm by His Majesty, King Llane Wrynn. It has since expanded to contain the lands of both Elwynn Forest and the province of Duskwood.

Lands and Houses

Using the road from Stormwind, the March is split into following fiefs:

  • March of Stonewind, ruled by Lord Aras of House Ardalan.
    • County of Westerport, ruled by Lord Tion of House Harrowmire.
      • Barony of Greenstown, ruled by Lady Abighail of House Stalsworth.
        • Holdings: Millstone Hamlet, Village of Greenstown, Fisherman's Jetty, Soldiers' Retreat, Amberfall
      • Barony of the Craven Isles, ruled by Lord Wardom of House Greywell.
        • Holdings: Westminster, Winterhaven
      • Barony of Norbury, ruled by Lord Norman of House Greyson.
        • Holdings: Dunsmuir, Clear Water Mine, Helmswood Motte, Norbury Township, Norbury Keep
      • Barony of Gnoll Wood, ruled by Lord Hadwyn of House Lowell.
        • Holdings: Mirefield, Norwich, Whitebridge, Strawshire
    • County of Thunder Falls, ruled by Lord Aras of House Ardalan.
      • Barony of Hearthfall, ruled by Lord Fragan of House Trahaern.
        • Holdings: Westerham, Ringwood, Howshire, Ganwestal
      • Barony of High Hill, ruled by Lord Amelie of House Therrineux.
        • Holdings: Stathshire, Davenport, Addersfield, Holmfirth
      • Barony of Blackburn, ruled by Lord Aras of House Ardalan.
        • Holdings: Drayton, Rockford, Wirksworth, Keswick
      • Barony of Woodhurst, ruled by Lord Cylus of House Baultery.
        • Holdings: Woodhurst Township, Baultery Manor.

All houses and fiefdoms of the March of Stonewind are actual unique players with the exception of Norman Greyson who is an alt of Aras Ardalan, no NPCs.

Military

Due to its relatively close proximity to the capital, the march is host to a small garrison of roughly 550 soldiers belonging to His Majesty's Royal Army. For general civil issues, the march maintains a local volunteer militia consisting of 950 men-at-arms spread across the provinces' major cities and roads. In time of crisis, such as revolt or invasion, the march is capable of levying 60% of its populace. The bulk of the march's siege-works and artillery is kept at one of its two primary fortresses; Helmswood Motte or Norbury Keep. These weapons of war and their associated supplies include battering-rams, ballistas, catapults, cannons, and mortars. For matters pertaining to sea power, the march relies upon hired privateers.
