Modera is an Archmage of the Kirin Tor and a member of the Council of Six. She is the longest current serving member of the Council having been a member from before the Second War. She used to work closely with former member of the Council of Six, Drenden. Modera was very close to Aethas Sunreaver and supported him in his efforts to re-admit the Blood Elves into Dalaran. She is an outspoken proponent of the Kirin Tor's neutrality and was dismayed about the Purge of Dalaran. Despite her misgivings about the purge and the break from neutrality, Modera did support Jaina and the Kirin Tor Offensive on the Isle of Thunder by serving as a commander there.
