Montroux is a small township in northern Westridge, not too far east of Westridge Keep. It is primarily a farming community producing wheat, potatoes, and other basic crops. The local gentry, mostly descended from merchants and knights who served in the First War, is known for its conservative monarchist leanings and deeply-rooted tenant farm system, through which they control most of the agriculture around the township. The township's leader - currently Magistrate Vance Barathen Tyrhault, who has won the last three election cycles - is supposedly popularly elected by the township's entire population; however, it is commonly part of tenant contracts for local peasants to vote for the holder of the contract, meaning that the election is in truth always decided by the gentry. Merchant relations are also usually handled by the gentry, further entrenching their power.

The current iteration of the township has only existed since the reclamation of Stormwind during the Second War; however, there has long been a town or village called Montroux in the region, and the people of Montroux are proud to claim its heritage.

Notable landmarks in the township include the Town Hall, the Montroux Exchange, and the Chapel of Saint Turalyon the Reclaimer.
