The Mountainpine Wildkin are a tribe of Wildkin located in the Hinterlands, and one of the few remaining peaceful tribes in the region after many Wildkin have since been stirred into a frenzy. They are a secluded community based within the uncharted reaches of the mountains, as their name would suggest. They are led by Chieftain Hooroom.

During the growth of Seradane, the Kaldorei who came to the land to see to the Great Tree's growth established themselves. Among the things they created in building their home was a shrine to the goddess Elune. Though many of the Kaldorei have since moved on from the land, the Wildkin of the Hinterlands gravitated to the shrine, congregating around it and making their home where the Kaldorei had once built.
Centuries later into recent history, the Mountainpine have remained peaceful, in large part due to their livelihood surrounding the shrine of Elune. They have become obscure, however, forgotten even as a great number of the Hinterlands Wildkin have become rampant for reasons unknown.
They recently came under attack by Jin'kul the Slaver and the Vilebranch Tribe, using the Mountainpine as an experiment with the Emerald Nightmare to corrupt their shrine to Elune. The Mountainpine were saved by the Silverguard, and eventually began to reach out to their neighboring Highvale Elves to share the uncharted reaches of the Hinterlands.
