The Naval General Service Medal is a Grand Alliance Navy Honour which is awarded to Navy personnel who complete sets of heroic or dutiful actions while at sea.

The medal can be awarded for a large variety of reasons such as excellent command (Or a long term of command) of a vessel, submariner service, effective training, notable combat and sometimes even for an unusually long time of service.

The medal itself is very basic and is a common award, it being awarded to several hundred sailors and officers already.

Traditionally, the award was distributed and awarded by the acting Fleet Commander, but now due to Navy personnel numbers become vaster by the year, the award has taken to being awarded by the recipient's C.O., or the vessel X.O.

The medal holds the post-nominal of NGSM.
