Oathkeeper is the renowned blade of House Dawnsinger and the Dawnish people. The blade was created just after the Troll Wars in celebration of House Dawnsinger's birth.
The blade is of a magical nature, and the ritual each wielder performs is very distinct. To take the blade, the wielder must be a member of the Dawnsinger family. To verify this, they bleed atop the blade which causes a glow and a change within the blade's form. Then, the Dawnsinger must swear an oath that they are bound to for eternity.
Oathkeeper was usurped by Aela Dawnsinger before her sister Arla could complete the blood ritual to bind the blade.
