Lord Orthanach Mac Carthaigh is a Lordaeron-born nobleman who rules over Caldemere. He was born to a family of miners, enlisting later on into his teen years. He ventured from his barely surviving homeland during the later half of the Outland campaign, enlisting in Stormwind. He was knighted under Stormwind for service in the Outland and Northrend campaigns. He now serves the Cathedral of the Light as a guardian.

Personality & Beliefs

Orthanach was raised with the mindset of a commoner. He takes no issue with hard labour, and believes anything worth doing wrought in hardship. A man of the Light, Orthanach strives to be understanding of those he meets, above or below himself in status, and to good by them.

Orthanach has followed the Church of the Holy Light since he knew the religion existed. His religious beliefs followed him all throughout his trainings, leading him to become a Paladin.

Description

Orthanach is mostly unremarkable man. He's built as like a working man and a soldier. His hair, when not dyed a colour close to brown, is completely white, save for his eyebrows, which haven't had their colour shift to white, remaining brown. A large scar is over his left eye, a keepsake from the fighting in Northrend, where a weapon had breached his helmet. Remarkably his left eye remains undamaged.

Biography

Born to a working class family, Orthanach worked with his father in the mines and quarries as a boy. He took an interest in the knightly tournaments around the midpoint of his teens, taking to learning combat with different arms, eventually squiring and enlisting in the military. When Lordaeron fell, the mountain pass into Caldemere was collapsed, a move that kept the region mostly safe, but they were in for hard times like those on the other side of the collapse. Orthanach's family was hit as hard as anyone, shortages of everything from food to structures.

The struggling Caldemere wouldn't give in, though. the miners, builders, and volunteers in the region, including Orthanach, set to constructing a gate on their side of the mountain pass, preparing to one day clean up the obstructions of the collapse that kept the people of Caldemere mostly alive.

The gate was constructed over a long period of time, and guards were stationed, and then nothing happened. Orthanach had enough of this endless wait for a signal of things getting better that never came. Himself, along with a gaggle of other younger men took one of the boats that left Caldemere able to see outside their small stretch of land, sailing south. Orthanach arrived in Stormwind, lacking for coin, he did went for what he knew, and he enlisted.

He served in the ending of the Outland efforts until the end of the Pandaria Campaign. He later reenlisted for the Third Legion Invasion and remains enlisted, though was mostly passive in the Fourth War, prioritizing Caldemere's wellbeing, until the latter half of the conflict.

Orthanach is the Lord of Caldemere, a small and recovering region sworn to Stormwind and the Alliance.

Orthanach is a Knight of Stormwind. He frequently aids Alliance war efforts with his small retinue of men, providing a defensive force.

Orthanach is a founding member of House Mac Carthaigh. The House adopted his symbol of a tower and is known for specializing in guardians and defensive forces.
