The Grand Alliance

Quel'Danil Lodge is the larger of two Farstrider outposts in Lordaeron and is situated in the Hinterlands. This high elf hunter’s lodge is near Aerie Peak.

Background

Saldor Shallowbrook, an aged, placid high elf oversees the Lodge. It acts as an embassy of sorts to continue the remaining high elves' diplomatic relations with other races, with Vor'taria Ara'lith serving as its ambassador to the Senator of Aerie Peak, and the Dwarven Senate.

The high elves of the Lodge and the dwarves of Aerie Peak have formed good relationships, bonding over shared appreciation for the land they lived in as well as their joined contempt for the local Forest Troll tribes.

Following the destruction of the Sunwell, all elves of the Quel'Danil Lodge have chosen to abstain from the use of magic. Still, Draenei have been allowed to settle in the Lodge in order to practice magic themselves, and share in appreciation for the beauty of the region.

Foreign Groups and Settlers

During the events of the Cataclysm, quite a few young draenei settled in Quel'Danil to train in the ways of the Light and enjoy the peaceful beauty of the land. Some from Te'Amun co-exist happily with those of Highguard stationed in the Lodge, which comes as no surprise.

With the rekindling of the 812th Farstrider Battalion's numbers, an accord was stuck with the Highvale Elves that they may work together in operations around Lordaeron. As such, the Lodge serves as a Forward Operating Base (FOB) for the 812th, and the Highguard on occasion.

To the east of Quel'Danil, the Lordaeronian haven of Gryphonwing Refuge has worked closely with the elven lodge alongside the Wildhammer Clan in hopes of greater Alliance posterity in the Hinterland region.

Horde Attacks

The Forsaken attack on the Quel'Danil Lodge.

After the Wildhammer and the Highvale began to cement closer relations during the Dark Times, the Revantusk Tribe attempted to orchestrate attacks on the Lodge. Calling on Horde adventurers, the Revantusk attempted to see to the death of as many Highvale elves as possible. These same adventurers were then enlisted to destroy crucial information and documents.

These documents were not destroyed, however. Shortly after the Cataclysm, the Forsaken also attempted to steal these documents through an attack on the Lodge. However, the combined effort of the Highvale elves and the Draenei settlers withstood the Forsaken assault, and the documents were safely collected and delivered to Anchorite Traska for safekeeping.

Geographical Benefits

Highvale Sentries

The 812th in residence aided both the recovering settlements of the Arathi Highlands and Hillsbrad by opening a safer, patrolled trade route between the two, and connecting with those settlements in the Plaguelands. The added protection of Aerie Peak through the steep mountain pass ensured economic growth for all involved. As a bonus, the Lodge results in a quicker response time when Stromgarde is threatened, or the Alliance of Arathor requests other aid.
