Raelor Valeclaw

"I do not serve shadow or light, I serve something far more important. Life itself."

Raelor No'randis Valeclaw is a Druid of the Cenarion Circle, and a Druidic Ambassador of the Citrine Eagles. His residence is two fold, often hopping between Kalimdor and the Alterac Mountains for his duty. Raelor's age and position as Druid has earned him deep connections across Azeroth, predominately through the overlapping Cenarion Circle's connection to most other Druidic Circles. Despite his connection to members of the Alliance, he himself is not formally a member of it and stands neutral among the Cenarion Circle.

History

Early Life

Childhood

Raelor was born to a huntress living on the edge of the elven territory held by the Prince Farondis. He grew up in the forest, his mother bringing him through the forest to observe and live among the lands revered by the Night Elves. He grew up alongside his half-brother, Ko'danil. He grew close with his brother, up until their paths lead them to different sections of the Elven Empire. Where Ko'danil had followed the path of the Moon Guard, Raelor had followed a simpler path as an Innkeeper living in the forest with the 'lesser' folk.

War of the Ancients

When the War of the Ancients began, Raelor supported the war effort as a healer near the front lines, only occasionally seeing battle yet most often standing and watching for demonic infiltrators seeking to slaughter the wounded. It was in these times he begun to see the most powerful primordial beings of Nature rising, pushing the deep respect of life even farther into his being.

Eternal Starlight Reborn

The New Moon Rising

Following the defeat of the Burning Legion at the Well of Eternity, and the subsequent Sundering of ancient Kalimdor, Raelor lingered in the forest of Hyjal among the rebuilding society of the Kaldorei. He actively contributed alongside his brother to rebuilding their people, until once more their paths split again.

Guardian Rising

Raelor rushed to study Druidism under any being possible. At this early point in the path, only Malfurion existed as a mortal master. Because of this, Raelor found a peculiar master: an ancient of lore named Amberbough the Teller. Though he was not a mortal, Amberbough was able to relate and teach Raelor very well and gave him great progression in the path until his attention was changed in the face of family tragedy.

The Guardian and the Hunter

Ko'danil had lost his lover, a priestess of Elune who was sent out into Kalimdor to search for more survivors. She had been ambushed by Satyr, captured with her Sisters until he had come to her aid. Ko'danil was a great warrior, though later he would confess after a much greater sin to using Arcane magic in the rescue attempt. Yet with or without the arcane magics of the Moon Guard, Ko'danil returned alone.

Raelor spent time with Ko'danil, yet he had been to distracted by the prospects of Druidism to truly focus on mending his brothers wounds, and gave no thought to helping him find his strength to carry on. Without the only family left in Ko'danils life to help him, he turned to madness and violence. Raelor had learned to listen far too late: the confession and the ravings were wet with tears by the time he had finished reading them. Ko'danil was gone. Soon he would be replaced by another being: Nyrinas.

Weakness and Guilt

Guilt racked Raelor to the core of his being, doing harm to the internal balance Amberbough had taught him to find. He had come to believe himself as nothing more than a vain, weak fool. A monster who followed the lust of the Highborne than his brother who had the actual relation to some. His training had slowed until a Druid following the path of Aessina found him alone in the darkness of hyjal, hiding even from the moonlight. With the compassionate nature of a Druid, he rekindled enough of a flame to increase Raelor's training speed and productivity in the growing circle. Soon he would meet other followers of the different gods, and decide his own path to follow.

Power, Discipline, and Courage

To pass the test of the Bear Totem, Raelor would need to find the Great Bear Spirit of Moonglade. In the clearing of the powerful spirit, Raelor became Raelor Valeclaw. His understanding of his Strength became solid as the bark of the growing Nordrassil, strength he would carry with him into the uncertain future ahead.

The Strong and Ferocious

The War of the Satyr would come some time after Raelor had began studying Druidism. During the prelude between the bloody conflicts of the War of the Ancients and the War of the Satyr, he made many friends among the ranks of other druidic initiates. One of them was an aspiring follower of the Great Wolf Goldrinn, named Ad'aren Timbereye. They grew close through their progression, ultimately serving in the following War with the wisdom and blessings of their mutual totems. Due to the unstable nature of the Pack Form, Ad'aren was once sent into an unstable fury in his wolven form where he attempted to leap upon Raelor in his ursine body. With greater physical strength he managed to beat back Ad'aren, though he gained a scar visible in his elven form along the back of his left leg from his initial pounce.

The Banishment of the Worgen

Ad'aren had become worse after that point of attack, continuing to follow the use of the totem after it had been banished until he turned again on Raelor and other close brothers in the Cenarion Circle. With mutual strength they had beaten him down even with the new change in the Pack Form, which had brought about the Worgen. Ad'aren now rests in the dream beneath Daral'nir in eternal slumber.

The War of the Shifting Sands

Raelor had been awakened once word of the battle in Silithus had reached northern Kalimdor, and the Cenarion Circle had moved to act. With the power he had developed through his long meditation and study of the Emerald Dream, he was able to lead individual strike teams through the sands in relatively successful battles.

Raelor had not been dispatched to follow Valstann in the orchestrated feint that resulted in his vivid slaughter before the Cenarion forces. His group had lost most of its members as the Qiraji pushed them back into Un'goro, though they returned immediately when the Dragons had joined the Night Elves forces. He survived to see the creation of the barrier around Ahn'qiraj, and to witness the anger of Fandral and the destruction of his given artifact. The tragic death of the noble general still weighed heavily upon his heart as he returned to Mount Hyjal. Once more he drifted into the peace of the Emerald Dream, until another ancient threat slammed open the doors of Azeroth and scattered any semblance of balance...

The Third War

When the Burning Legion returned to Azeroth ten thousand years after their first intrusion, Raelor was trapped like many of the Druids in the Barrow Dens. Once being freed he set out with the forces of Kalimdor, witnessing vile deeds both the Humans and the Orcs did to the land. Yet when the Legion's final assault began he set these feelings aside, fighting along side them in the last ditch efforts of mortal races to defend the world they called home. In the battle he was deeply wounded, forced to retreat and watch from a distance as Archimonde was slain.

When the Demons were defeated, he retreated into the Dream in order to recuperate, seeing the newly returned mortality causing his other forms of healing to weaken in effectiveness. After a year of meditation his body was once more fit for service, and the druid immediately set out to being healing the world of it's damage.
