Razelikh the Defiler (a.k.a Rakh'likh) was an immensely powerful Dreadlord and demonic overlord of the Blasted Lands.
History[]
During the Third War, he served as Lord Kazzak's most fearsome lieutenant. After Archimonde's defeat, the demons retreated to the Blasted Lands, and he was instructed to secure the land, which he eventually succeeded when he united the Shadow Council sects.
Razelikh's lair stood atop the highest mountain in the Blasted Lands: the Rise of the Defiler. The only way to reach his lair was through the use of the teleport runes near the base of the mountain. Only by holding the amulet could one be transported to the peak.
Besides being served by the death knight Ilifar and his Fel Guard Felcular, Razelikh was protected by a triad composed by Grol the Destroyer, Lady Sevine, and Archmage Allistarj of the Shadowsworn. In exchange for their servitude, Razelikh granted each of them nearly unlimited power within the Blasted Lands. Each of Razelikh's underlings wears a third of an amulet of Razelikh's creation around their neck. The very same amulet is needed in order to summon the arch demon. The amulet pieces are each attuned to the lifeforce of their owner, granting them immortality. As long as they remained within the Blasted Lands, they couldn't be slain, their life spans extended until the end of days.
Eventually, adventurers found a way to harm the demon lord and his minions. A weapon of power was forged bearing his true name: Rakh'likh. The weapon rendered the demon and all under his command vulnerable.
Despite the weapon's deadly strength, he survived at the first attack, unlike his lieutenants Felcular and Ilifar and two thirds of his servant triad. Loramus Thalipedes relocated himself to the Blasted Lands to purge him but he was slain by Grol on his quest. A hero managed to revive the Demon Hunter, who spoke Razelikh's name, spelling his end. After an intense battle, Razelikh was defeated and jailed in Loramus' body. The future of the two is unknown.
