Rut'Theran Village before the Cataclysm.
Rut'theran Village was the main port and maritime base of operations for the Night Elven people, acting as both a booming trade depot and a large military Fleet base. The harbor is also home to a breeding ground for most of the night elves' hippogryphs on the large branches in the surrounding area, in which the eggs are brought from all over Kalimdor to raise into strong war hardened beasts.
When the Cataclysm hit, several parts of the village were destroyed. Some services in Rut'theran were relocated to other parts of the now shattered island.
During the War of the Thorns, the village was struck first by siege weapons, docks aflame. Along with the rest of Teldrassil, Ru'theran Village was destroyed within an hour of its burning.
