Archmage Vargoth is a powerful member of the Kirin Tor. He is best known for leading a group of Kirin Tor magi through the Dark Portal with the Alliance Expedition. When he and the other magi were trapped in Draenor the Kirin Tor members established with village of Kirin'Var in what is now known as Netherstorm. When the Blood Elves under Kael'thas Sunstrider attacked the village with a an overwhelming force, including the use of a Mana Bomb. Despite Kael'thas' best efforts he was unable to kill Archmage Vargoth and instead imprisoned him in the mage tower in the village. Vargoth escaped with the aid of adventurers traveling through the Dark Portal and made his way back to Dalaran where he resides to this day. Since his return he has been active in helping the Kirin Tor, most notably on the Isle of Thunder. He is believed to be on the short list of candidates who replaced Aethas Sunreaver on the Council of Six.
