"Weakness... that is all you have managed to show me. Genn, you and those other disgusting mongrels that plague Gilneas, I sought death before I would serve you again. Enter the Banshee Queen, Sylvanas. You showed your true nature when you allowed Crowley to leave with his life, and so I took yours instead. You would do well to remember all that I have done, but if you still dare to enter my keep, all you will find is the lonely silence of death."

–Lord Vincent Godfrey

Lord Vincent Godfrey was a Gilnean nobleman of the House of Godfrey and was formerly the lord of the region of Tempest's Reach. Lord Godfrey was one of the nobles in King Genn Greymane's close circle, accompanying him to Capital City during the formation of the Alliance of Lordaeron and being the one to suggest sending a token force to stay in the good graces of the other nations for the benefit of trade and tariffs. Later, when he was informed of King Greymane's decision to build the Greymane Wall he suggested that instead of building them through the lands of Lord Marley, to take advantage of the natural mountainous ranges going through the lands of Arevass of Lord Darius Crowley

During the invasion of Gilneas, Lord Godfrey turned against King Greymane after it was revealed that he was afflicted by the curse of the Worgen. Along with his associates Baron Ashbury and Lord Walden, he attempted to kidnap the king in order to turn him over to the invading Forsaken forces in the hopes of negotiating with the Forsaken. The kidnapping was foiled, and finding himself cornered with his associates dead he flung himself from the cliffs of Tempest's Reach and committed suicide, seeing death as a preferable alternative to having a Worgen for a king.

Sometime following his death, a Forsaken strike team snuck behind Gilnean lines to recover his body, along with those of his associates Baron Ashbury and Lord Walden, and they were resurrected to serve the Forsaken and Lady Sylvanas Windrunner. Godfrey played a crucial role in the late battles in Silverpine, taking captive Commander Lorna Crowley of the Gilneas Liberation Front. However, following the Forsaken victory he betrayed them, assassinating Lady Sylvanas with a gunshot to the back of the head before fleeing to the safety of Shadowfang Keep with Ashbury and Walden, where they were hunted down and slain once and for all.
