Years and years ago, before Gilneas had the Light, a ship shipwrecked on an island with a dangerous coastline. Captain Jeremiah Wheland died on the ship getting all the women off.
Initially, they couldn't return home because they didn't have the means to. But they made a life for themselves and eventually decided to stay. The island has large quantities of stone and valuable gems, along with enough resources for food and building materials for the island's needs. The island was named Wheland's Isle in memory of the captain.
The more superstitious islanders claim Captain Wheland's spirit is still out at sea to guide his crew to safe land. They claim he is why Brother Jacob landed safely. Such a claim was never proven.

Wheland's Isle is in the Great Sea, north-west of Gilneas. It is not located in any current diocese.
Appearance[]
The appearance of the island has not been drawn yet. It is our intention that people feel able to contribute their own stories and lore to the guild (so long as it fits with the overall story.
There is currently a beach that is difficult to reach. The major settlement is called Light's Miracle, in reference to Brother Jacob's miracle. The island has enough agriculture, timber and livestock to support the residents. It's main resources for financing the Azeroth Missions Society is a quarry and a valuable gem mine.
